The product of English, Welsh, and Scottish ancestry, Lloyd's family tree includes famed British author Charles Dickens.
Early Life and CareerEdit
Lloyd was born in London in 1983. He attended Eton College where he began his professional acting career at age 16. He appeared alongside Daniel Radcliffe in the 1999 BBC production of his great-great-great grandfather's novel David Copperfield. While continuing to work in television and film, Lloyd attended Christ Church, Oxford to study English in 2002.
After a number of roles on stage and television, Lloyd joined the ranks of favorite sci-fi actors after starring in the critically acclaimed Doctor Who episodes Human Nature and Family of Blood in 2007. He cemented his genre credentials as Viserys Targaryen in HBO's Game of Thrones. He also appeared alongside Counterpart co-star Olivia Williams in the WGN Original Series Manhattan in 2014.
In addition to his television and film work, Lloyd is a writer and often performs on stage. His most recent role was in the John Malkovich-directed production of Zach Helm's Good Canary at the Rose Theatre in London in 2016.
